This website
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies: the fonts and the recordings come from this site. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard request logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the service, under its own privacy policy.
When you buy
Freemius runs the checkout. It handles your payment details under its own privacy policy, and we never see your card. Freemius shares with us your name, your email address, and your licence and order details, so we can support you and send licence notices.
When you activate the plugin
Kiln uses the Freemius SDK to check your licence and deliver updates. When you activate a licence, it sends Freemius:
- your site’s address and an identifier for the site;
- the name and email address of the administrator who activates it;
- the licence key, and the Kiln and SDK versions.
If you leave diagnostic info switched on in the activation screen, it also sends your WordPress and PHP versions, and your site’s title and language. You can switch that off there. After activation, the licence and update checks keep sending your site’s address and versions, and deactivating or deleting the plugin sends Freemius a short notice. Kiln doesn’t send usage analytics.
Modules that talk to Google
The Google sign-in and Google reviews modules connect your site to Google with the keys you create in your own Google account. Google reviews are fetched by your site; with Google sign-in, your visitor’s browser goes to Google to sign in and your site checks the result. We receive none of that data.
Data that stays on your site
The search log module stores search terms in your own database. Deleting the plugin removes that table and every Kiln setting.
