Who you buy from
Kiln for Bricks is made by Oleg Chystieiev, a sole proprietor in Ontario, Canada, and sold through Freemius, which acts as the merchant of record: it charges your card, issues the receipt and handles sales tax and VAT.
What a licence gives you
- Every Kiln module, on as many sites as you want, including local and staging copies.
- Updates and support for as long as the licence is active.
- The yearly licence renews automatically each year and charges the payment method you used, until you cancel it in your Freemius account or by writing to us. The founders licence is paid once: updates and support with no renewal, for as long as Kiln is sold.
The plugin’s code is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. What you pay for is the licence key: it switches on updates and support.
If a licence lapses
Kiln keeps working on every site where it’s installed. Updates and support stop until you renew.
Modules Bricks takes over
When Bricks ships a feature that a Kiln module provides, we retire that module and point you to the Bricks setting. Your licence keeps covering every other module. Retiring a module is not grounds for a refund outside the refund window.
Refunds
Within 14 days of buying, under the conditions in the refund policy.
No warranty
As the GPL says, Kiln is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We test each release with the current Bricks release, but we can’t promise it works with every theme, plugin or host. Back up your site before you install or update any plugin.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about Kiln is limited to what you paid for your licence in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect damages.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and changes apply to purchases made after that date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
