How to use it
- Give your products a brand in WooCommerce Brands.
- Open Bricks > Kiln and turn on Shop: brand in breadcrumbs.
- In the module's settings, under In the shop's breadcrumb, choose After the categories, Before the categories or Instead of the categories.
- Open a single product page that has a breadcrumb.
If a product has several brands, Kiln shows the primary brand set in Yoast SEO. Without one, it shows the most specific brand assigned to the product, so a sub-brand wins over its parent.
Where it appears in Bricks
Both apply on single product pages only.
How it works with Bricks' Breadcrumbs element
The Breadcrumbs element builds Home / Shop / product for a product, so it has no category crumbs to place the brand against. Kiln puts the brand before the current item, in the element's own link markup, whatever you chose in the setting. If the Structure hides the current item, the brand goes at the end. If your Structure already shows the brand, Kiln leaves it as it is.
In WooCommerce's breadcrumb, a product with no category crumbs gets the brand right before the product. If the brand is already in the trail, Kiln does not add it again.
Limits
- Single product pages only. Product loops and archives are not changed.
- A product without a brand keeps its normal breadcrumb.
- The position setting does not apply to the Breadcrumbs element.
Settings
