The idea
The module "Form: confirm email field" answers the same idea for the Bricks Form element.
How to use it
- Open Bricks > Kiln and turn on Shop: confirm email & password on registration.
- Open a page that shows the registration form. The form now has a Confirm email address field and, in some shops, a Confirm password field.
- Register with two different values. The form shows "The email addresses do not match." or "The passwords do not match." and creates no account.
The Confirm email address field sits above WooCommerce's privacy text. The email comparison ignores letter case and spaces around the address. The password comparison is exact.
Where it appears in Bricks
- WooCommerce's own My account registration form.
- Bricks' Account – Register form element.
When the password field shows
Confirm password appears only when customers choose their own password. In WooCommerce > Settings > Accounts & Privacy, turn off Send password setup link. With the setup link on, the form has no password field and Kiln adds none.
Limits
- Accounts created at checkout are not checked. The checkout form does not have these fields.
- In Bricks' Account v2 register form, the fields show wherever the
woocommerce_register_formaction is printed. Bricks' shipped preset includes it. A v2 form without that action shows no confirm fields and is not checked. - WooCommerce shows one registration error at a time.
Settings
Under the module's row in Bricks > Kiln, two checkboxes, both ticked by default:
- Confirm email address
- Confirm password
Untick one to drop that field. The module is off by default.
Requirements
Bricks 2.4 or newer, and WooCommerce 11.1 or newer.
